Just like anything that you do, working from home has its pros and cons. It is basically up to you to balance this:
PROS:
- Flexibility. You are your own boss. You can work whenever you feel like working. You can rest anytime you want. You can work even in the wee hours. You can very well manage your time.
- Authority. Since you are the boss, nobody will scold you if you commit a mistake. You just have to face the consequences of that error. You do not have to worry about some other people on top of you braking all the time or calling you at work on impossible times. You are free and ready to do the job as you see fit.
- Good for Health. Since you are not working under strict time schedule, you need not skip your meal in the morning. You can eat fresh cooked foods. You need not settle for fast food. You have all the time to exercise and somehow engage in some activities.
- Spare Family Time. You need not feel guilty neglecting your family because you can easily make yourself available.
- Work Anywhere. You can work anywhere even in far away place as long as there is an internet connection. You can even work while you are in an out of town.
CONS.
- Distraction. Since you are at home with your kids, you are open with so many distractions. It is best to make a room that will serve as your office.
- Lonely. You are working all by yourself. This set up is kind of lonely because you are working all by yourself all the time.
- The need of discipline. Your job at home requires a lot of discipline on your part. You have to set schedule and make your best to work on your agenda.
