Saffron is an expensive spice extracted from the flower of the saffron crocu. It is the most expensive spice considering its weight. Saffron is widely seen in the west of Kashmir, India. During pregnancy women in India often use saffron. They believe that saffron will give more fairness to their baby. During pregnenacy they take saffron with milk. Is it good to take saffron during pregnancy? There is no scientific proof behind the apect of using saffron during pregnancy.
Some people believe that saffron act on melanocyte of human body and reduces the melanin secretion. Thus the color of the baby becomes lighter. As the melanin pigment increases body color becomes darker while its reduction leads to lighter color.
